Allegri happy with the win against Cesena and all-praise for his stars: Serie A news
A.C Milan manager, Massimiliano Allegri, has praised his players in his team’s 1-0 win over Cesena at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Saturday, September 24, 2011.
Milan registered their first win of the 2011/12 Serie A campaign after drawing two and losing the other game of the season so far. The Italian Champions are faced with a huge injury crisis and Allegri believes that despite that
the team played like one unit.
The manager heaped special praise on veteran star, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Clarence-Seedorf-c9275, and admitted that he is sad that he cannot play him on a regular basis due to his age. The 44-year-old joked that they should clone the former Real Madrid star
to play him regularly.
While talking to the reporters, Allegri said, “Seedorf had a great game. Unfortunately he’s 35 years old and can’t play constantly. Maybe we should clone him!”
Allegri also praised Antonio Cassano for a good game and believes that he helped rookie star, Stephan El-Shaarawy, who did not have a good game.
“http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Antonio-Cassano-c6302 had a great game, while Stephan El Shaarawy needs to be given the time and space to grow. He was less sharp than on Wednesday, but it’s not easy to start at San Siro at his age.”
The manager also spoke in the defence of summer signing, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Taye-Taiwo-c34728, who made his Serie A debut for the Champions. Allegri believes that the former Olympique Marseille star needs some games to get back to his best. The former Cagliari
boss believes that the full-back had a decent game given the lack of first-team action for a long period.
“Taiwo was playing his first game in a long time, so when attacking he often got his timing wrong, while in defence he was either too tight or too wide, but he didn’t disappoint me.”
The manager has urged the players to step up their game from here as some difficult matches await them in the near future. Milan will travel to Turin to take on Juventus in their next league game on Sunday, October 2nd,
2011.
