Allegri happy with the win but fears fatigue could take its toll against Juventus: Serie A news
A.C Milan manager, Massimiliano Allegri, is delighted with his team’s win but fears fatigue for the weekend game.
Milan won 2-0 against Viktoria Plzen in a UEFA Champions League encounter at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Wednesday, September 28th, 2011. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Antonio-Cassano-c6302 scored for the hosts as they registered
their first win of the ongoing campaign.
Allegri believes that his team deserved to win after a consistent show in the 2-2 draw against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 in their opening game. The tactician praised his team for a great performance and believes that Ibrahimovic’s return really
helped his side.
Allegri said, “It is an important victory to give consistency to what we did in Barcelona. We alternated good things with not so good, but overall the win was deserved. Ibrahimovic is an important player and can give great physical
presence to the side.”
The former Cagliari boss fears player burn-out because he is playing with a same group of players for the last few weeks. Milan have been dealt with a huge injury crisis as most of their first-team starters are out.
Allegri is hoping to have few of his injured stars back for the Juventus game as it will give him option to rest some of his players.
“If http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alexandre-Pato-c4901 recover for Juventus, then it means I’d have more options, or at least the opportunity to rest someone. It is a difficult game on Sunday, even if it’s early to talk about it. Juventus have the big
advantage of playing only once a week, while we will certainly feel the after-effects of this strain.”
The Rossoneri have not had a great start to their Serie A season and have picked up only five points from four games played thus far. The Italian Champions have been adversely affected by the injury crisis but are looking to continue
their winning run after Ibrahimovic’s return.
Milan will travel to Turin to take on Juventus in their next game on October 2nd. 2011.
