Allegri keeps offensive options open
AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri has said that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is likely to make his debut for the club on Saturday.
Ibrahimovic joined Milan on loan from Barcelona in August, after the Italian club's owner, Silvio Berlusconi, orchestrated a deal with the Spanish giants.
"Will Ibrahimovic play straight away? He is well and I think he will play from the start," Allegri said ahead of Saturday's trip to Cesena.
Only days after the Swedish striker joined the club, Berlusconi pulled further strings to secure the arrival of Brazilian forward, Robinho, from Manchester City, completing a dense attacking line that already includes Ronaldinho, Pato and Filippo Inzaghi.
Four stars could all feature
Allegri added that the match against Cesena might mean his four star strikers all on the pitch at the same time.
Commentators have questioned whether playing the four stars — a grouping from which veteran Inzaghi is excluded — at the same time would even be possible.
Ibrahimovic has already said that the quartet could do damage in the same lineup, and Allegri added that all four players could feature at some point in the match.
"They can all play together, but we need time to work on our modules. Ibrahimovic and Robinho complete a group that was already strong," he said.
First away trip waits
Milan began their league season with a convincing 4–0 win against Lecce, and the team will be looking to make it two wins in two games against Cesena, a side that has made an upwards journey in the Italian league system.
"Cesena play good football, they have great enthusiasm and are playing at home for the first time," said the Milan manager. "After many years of Serie B and Serie C they will try 100 per cent to beat us. It will be tough as they will want to show they can beat us. We have to be strong."
