The AC Milan head coach has remarked that the team who have the most grip on their nerves will be the next Italian Champions, and spoke of his growth at Milan.
The former Cagliari manager is of the opinion that the race to the Championship involves a battle of nerves, and the side with the best ability to hold onto their nerves
would be the one to persevere and win the Scudetto.
The race to the Scudetto has been fought between AC Milan and Juventus over the course of the season. Juventus had the upper hand in the initial rounds of the Serie A, and
after that Milan had the upper hand in the Italian Serie A. However, the Rossoneri failed to capitalise on their lead in the Serie A and succumbed to a few unwanted results which reduced their lead at the top of the table. Juventus capitalised on this dip
in results and leapfrogged the Rossoneri into the first place of the Serie A.
Allegri was writing to fans on Twitter, he also remarked on what he did when the team was not doing so well, and stated:
“The
Scudetto will be won by the team with the strongest nerve. What do I do when we’re doing badly at half-time? I tell the players a joke. Clearly so far my
favourite moment with Milan is winning the Scudetto. If I had to describe this first spell on the bench in three words I would say intense, fascinating and enthusiastic.”
Coaching Milan after being the head coach of smaller clubs like Cagliari has been a different challenge for Allegri and he stated:
“There are many differences between coaching a small club and a more important one. The main thing is that you play every three days and always have the pressure to win,
whereas with smaller sides it’s once a week.”
He remarked that his tenure at the Diavolo had developed him into a stronger manager, as he has had to tackle stronger personalities and keep in view the history and the
demands of a club like Milan. He has also able to develop more patience and better people’s skills.
