The AC Milan head tactician has stated that the race for Scudetto is still not over, even though the Rossoneri gave away their lead at the top of the table to Juve.
The Bianconeri have a slender one-point lead at the top of the table after the results of matchday 31 of the Serie A. Before Week 31 of the Lega, Juventus were two points
adrift of the Diavolo; however the Milanello’s defeat at the hands of Fiorentina meant that the Old Lady needed a victory to secure top spot.
They did this in style as they overcame a Palermo side who boast the fourth best home record of the Serie A, with goals from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-Quagliarella-c13194. Milan
on the other hand had a nervy game against the Viola and were on course for a draw, till an 89th minute goal by Fiorentina. What was bizarre was that it was the on-loan Juve striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Amauri-c5381, who scored the goal and consequently assisted his employers
in their bid for the Scudetto.
There had been fears that fatigue might creep in the Rossoneri stars as they had been active in the race for UEFA Champions League, Coppa Italia and the Scudetto. There
was a drop in the concentration levels of the Milanello side as they faced Fiorentina.
During the post-match conference, Allegri pointed out that it had not been the best of weeks for his side; however they needed to propel themselves back into the Lega summit.
He remarked:
"We have to accept this result, in the knowledge that there are still lots of games remaining and everything remains wide open. It has not been a great week, but we have
to bounce back because we still have everything to play for."
The only bright spot in an otherwise disappointing set of results was the introduction of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Antonio-Cassano-c6302 fifteen minutes before the end of the match. The former Cagliari
manager commented on the progression of his striker, and stated:
"Today [Antonio] played a quarter-hour, it will take time because he is lacking match fitness but he is training and progressing very well."
There are seven rounds left for Milan to claw their way to the top again.
