Allegri tips Inter Milan as Scudetto favourites and reveals handling techniques for Ibrahimovic
A.C Milan manager, Massimiliano Allegri, has tipped bitter rivals, Inter Milan, as favourites to win the 2011/12 Serie A and believes that the league will be very tight in the upcoming campaign.
Milan succeeded the Nerazzurri as Champions of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 in the 2010/11 campaign and ended Inter’s long time dominance in the league. The 44-year-old believes that Inter will prove to be a real title threat under Gian Piero Gasperini’s
management and will be their fiercest opponents.
Talking to the reporters Allegri said, “I have no doubts on the favourite to take the title. I’d bet on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567. Gian Piero Gasperini’s men are my favourites for the Scudetto.”
The tactician also admitted the difficulty in handling a player like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zlatan-Ibrahimovic-c38029. The Swedish international was one of the best players in Milan’s triumph last year and the former Cagliari coach is hoping much of the same
from his target man.
Allegri believes that a manager also needs to be a psychologist in terms of handling players of Ibrahimovic’s calibre because he needs to be dealt with very sensitively. However, he claimed that midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gennaro-Gattuso-c14525, is
a very easy player to handle because of his desire to win for Milan.
“I think a Coach needs to be partly a psychologist. Take Ibrahimovic. He’s not an easy player to deal with, as it requires patience. With him you have to use both the stick and the carrot. Ibra is a strong personality and needs
to be relaxed at times, while in other occasions he has to be stimulated, otherwise he falls asleep."
Allegri has received praise from all corners for having full command over the team and the former players believe that he has been amazing not only in terms of producing results but his handling of players, relation with the board
and handling of media have also been phenomenal.
The tactician is desperately hoping that the Swede will regain full fitness before the start of the 2010/11 campaign and will be available for their opening clash against Cagliari on August 27th, 2011.
