The chief has revealed that A.C Milan and Massimiliano Allegri are close to reaching an agreement over a new contract
Allegri’s contract at the San Siro is set to expire at the end of the 2011/12 season and his future at the club is a subject of media interest for the past few months.
Reports claimed that the two parties have not agreed on a contract and the former Cagliari boss might leave the Champions at the end of the ongoing season. However, Galliani has allayed all such fears and has confirmed that the
tactician will put pen to paper in the next few days.
The 44-year-old is currently earning 2-million-Euros plus bonus in salaries and has asked for an improvement to his current contract. Galliani is confident that they will reach on an agreement with the manager and they will look
to finalize an economical deal.
The 67-year-old admitted that the Rossoneri have always chosen their manager’s based on performances and Allegri has definitely transformed the team.
While talking to the reporters, Allegri said,
“Allegri will certainly be here with us next season. During these times we have to spend carefully, but we’ll reach an economical deal with him. Nevertheless, we’ve always chosen our Coaches based on the type of football that they
play because we want a Milan who play well.”
“After all, there is a way to win and also a way to lose. Milan have always been a side who want to impose their own brand. Allegri is a Coach whose Sassuolo and Cagliari sides played good football.”
The former Cagliari boss helped Milan to reclaim the Scudetto after seven years and is on course to defend it this time around. Milan are currently placed 2nd in the league table and are only two points behind leaders,
Juventus. The Rossoneri have also qualified for the knockout round of the UEFA Champions League and will face http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 in the last 16 round.
Allegri will face his former employers, Cagliari in Milan’s next game at Stadio Sant’Elia on Tuesday, 20 December 2011.
