Allen Hsu beats Carter Tong to win Boy’s Singles U22 title at 2012 MBBC Jr International
USA’s talented player Allen Hsu proved his capability of taking bigger challenges as he claimed Boy’s Singles U22 title after beating his compatriot Carter Tong at the 2012 MBBC Jr International on Friday, July 20, in USA.
The in-form Allen had to employ everything he had in his possession to dominate the pace of rallies on court and remained successful in winning the match against his talented team-mate in a thrilling way.
Allen was not at his best in opening game but found a good rhythm in the following set to make the score levelled.
However, he showed his brilliance in the deciding set when he put up spectacular show of dominating badminton and won the match.
Carter, on the other hand, failed to continue his killing run in the final battle while playing against his compatriot Allen.
The aggressive Carter took the opening game by using his wonderful craft but failed to maintain his upper hand in following games and lost the battle with a comfortable margin in rubber games.
In the opening game, Allen failed to take lead against his rival in the opening half as both shuttlers were at the same level and they were also quite positive on court until the end of opening half.
After the break, Allen tried to inject more power into his shots but failed to control the bird and also played a few un-forced shots at the crucial stage and lost the set with a margin of 18-21.
Nevertheless, Allen did not take much time in fighting back into the game as he played tremendous badminton in the second set and easily bagged it with a completely dominating 21-12 score on the board.
In the decider, Allen again proved his superiority on court when he played at his best speed and took a sensational lead until the break.
After the interval, Allen continued his roller-coaster play on court and easily wrapped up the final set with a tremendous score of 21-14.
The impressive Allen emerged as the title winner after winning the final encounter in rubber games with a thrilling 18-21, 21-12 and 21-14 margin on the board.
