  1. warmer weather.in more places........more pollen

  2. increase in world's temperatures: an increase in the world's temperatures, believed to be caused in part by the greenhouse effect

    while

    alergen

substance causing allergy: any substance that causes an allergic reaction

    yes

same airborne chemicals and particulates causing air, water, land pollution and so therefore global warming irritate allergies.

  3. yes--the same airborne chemicals and particulates causing pollution and therefore global warming irritate allergies.

  4. Perception is not reality.  Allergens are no more prevalent than they were 20 years ago.  Given no increase in allergens, I'm fairly certain global warming isn't responsible.

Edit:  Apparently, a couple of people on here fail to note the difference between "allergens" and "allergies".  Allergic reactions are on the rise due to the human species becoming more sickly over the last few decades.  Modern medicine has allowed more individuals to survive what would've been fatal allergic reactions in years past, making it possible to pass their genetics on to the next generation.  A more sedentary lifestyle, most of which is spent indoors, fuels the problem.  We're not the only species on this planet to suffer allergic reactions to airborne pollen and mold, yet we're the only species to exhibit a rise in them.  Show me a study indicating horses or cattle are exhibiting more respiratory distress today than 20-30 years ago, and I'd be a little more likely to buy into a rise in allergen potency (since the counts haven't increased).

  5. I don't know if allergens are on the rise or not, and I'd be careful about blaming things on global warming. There could be a possible connection though...there was a study where a forest was subject to elevated levels of CO2 for several years. The trees produced much more pollen than the control group. So perhaps the increased levels of CO2 lead to more pollen in some species of plants/trees. I'm not sure if that's what's actually happening, if it is, but it could be a possibility.

  6. I don't believe so. I believe it is due more to the c**p we take into our bodies overloading our cleansing organs and altering our genetic make-up.

  7. Its summer dude not global warming

next you will ask, "allergens on the down trend in december"

    No chit sherlock

  8. I think it's more pollution than global warming causing the increase in allergies.  I know the two are almost hand in hand.  We keep cutting down trees and paving over once grassy areas so there are less "natural" ways of cleaning the air.  Less cleaning = dirtier and more allergens.  Then add the amount of chemicals we use in our homes to clean with, the "fumes" that household goods emit and it's no wonder that allergy medications are selling like hot cakes!!!
