Allergic reaction? Rash? Or what!?!?!?

So, last week I was in the ER cuz I couldn't stop coughing and couldn't breathe. I had to do some breathing treatments and have chest x-ray's. The doctors gave me an Albuterol inhaler and some high quality prescription cough syrup. I can take the cough syrup every 12 hours if I need it and I have to do the inhaler every 4 hours while I'm awake. So, here's the deal. About 4 days ago I noticed like little pimple-like bumps all over my chest and stomach. Could this be an allergic reaction to one of the medications? Or could it be like a heat rash or some kind of rash? Or do you think it's something different all together?

And don't bother saying "Go to the doctor" because I already have an appointment for Wednesday. If that's the only answer you can come up with don't bother answering. LoL. I want answers that people can actually say something rational. Thanks!

  1. I would wonder if it's a result or reaction to the inhaler as most inhalers are a type of corticosteroid, and steroids can lower your immune system. I don't think it's from the cough syrup.

  2. Rashes like what you describe are a very common result of a viral infection.

I doubt very much it has been caused by an allegy to your meds.
