My sisters fiance, woke up from his nap today and that hangy ball thing in the back of his throat was swollen and hanging down on his tongue...

the only thing he ate this morning was a soft shell taco..

he eats hard shell all the time and nothing bad ever happened?

so my question is can you be allergic to the soft shell of a taco?

or is it possible he got bit or swallowed a spider?

cuz he does sleep with his mouth opened sometimes (he snores)...

  1. Most likely he's allergic to the soft taco shell. I don't think he swallowed a spider. The swelling of the throat could be related to other allergies. If he snores and has problems breathing when he sleeps, he could have sleep apnea--a very serious problem. Tell him to get checked by his doctor.

  2. I thought you were talking about his tonsils, because I have heard 'uvula' a lot, but never once "hangy ball thing".

If he is not allergic to corn or wheat or any other common ingredients in baked goods, then it wasn't the shell.

  3. tell him to use cortizone10. it helps for allergic reactions. but its a creme/oitment. maybe he should use some benadryl tablets and creme. but im telling u cortizone10 works
