Question:

Allergic reaction on face: how to make it go away?

2 days ago, I had an allergic reaction to the face cream I used.

I woke up with dry, reddish skin and swollen eyes...

I took some benadryl so the worst is gone.

But now, 2 days later, my face is really dry and looks like a rash... What do I do to get the skin soft again, and how long will it take? (Pictures in 4 days.)

  1. i guess baby lotion or anti itch cream

  2. go see a doctor.. what face cream did you used?!

i recommend nivea creme.. good for dry and sensitive skin

  3. you need to get some zinc and castor oil creme .. put this on when you can. it will heal and protect while the layers of skin sort themselves out.

the pharmacist would be the best person to talk to about what to use. they maybe able to make up a creme for you.

I have very sensitive skin and have had to be very careful all my life. I now use a totally natural one and my skin is great. stay away from the big name ones as I found they were the ones that my skin hated the most. go for sorbolene or lanolin .. natural oil or cremes. dont use soap for bathing; sorbolene is good there also with a pair of gloves for a little abrasiveness. also be careful what you use to wash clothes as this will make you more sensitive to other things if it too is a highly scented etc one. try plain soap flakes for a wash or two (bit of a hassle dissolving the soap first but I just make up a bottle so I have a 2lt of made up sloppy soap :) with no additives; then use a natural oil for your rinse cycle (this too you have to put in at the right time not use dispenser). you can get water soluble eucalyptus oil which is also excellent as a air freshener in a spray bottle.
