Allergic to milk? whats going to happen?

I just got told that I am highly allergic to milk. They said that there is too much of it in my blood (i don't know how you can have milk in your blood). So I am really concerned right now because I LOVE milk and sometimes crave it. I tend to have problems with stuff that has sugar in in so besides water I drink milk. Will I have to always stay off of it or what is going to happen?

  1. ask the doctor if you can have Silk Milk instead

  2. What they mean is that you are lactose intolerent. But fear not, for there is milk you can drink! Soy milk. It really doesn't taste all that bad. The two brands I'm familiar with are Sun Soy and Silk Soy. I think Vanilla or Very Vanilla tastes the most like milk, but there are many different flavors to choose from.

Or, if it is just an allergy (which I've never heard of, honestly), then you may grow out of it. I had a friend who was allergic to chocolate for two years and then wasn't anymore. Also, with lactose intolerance sometimes you can grow out of it, as well. It never goes away completely, but it will become less of an issue as you get older.

  3. Are you lactose intolerant?  Allergy to lactose? You might be able to drink something like acidophiles milk or soy milk.  Silk makes a really tasty soy milk.

I dont know how old you are but I do know that if you are younger you can grow out of a food allergy.  It doesn't happen too often but it does happen.  Milk sugar is lactose so you could be having problems with that.  I am sure your doctor would have some recommendations of alternate drinks for you.
