Allergy to Sweet Tea?

There are certain types of sweet tea that make me very ill when I drink them, but I'm not sure what they are. Does anyone else have this problem or does anyone know of a substance used in teas that could have this reaction?

  1. It could be the tea leaves themselves that you are having a reaction to. Some teas, such as those made from flowers (chamomile tea, etc.) can cause allergic reactions if you're allergic to the flowers.

  2. could be dirty tea containers. you can get food poison faster from dirty tea containers than undercooked chicken!

  3. you could be allergic to the corn syrup. can you read the label? you must learn to read the label every time you get something because products change without notice.

  4. Maybe it isn't the tea you are having an allergic reaction too, perhaps it is the sweeter they use. Different restaurants use different kinds of syrup to make their tea sweet, some use sugar, others corn-syrup.

What I would do, if it was me, is test it out by ordering un-sweetened tea at the places you have having an allergic reaction to drinking their tea.
