Allie Szekely occupies Women’s 200m breaststroke title – Speedo Junior National Championships
Allie Szekely of Central Bucks Swim Team occupied gold medal of the Women’s 200m breaststroke on day one of the 2012 Speedo Junior National Championships at Indiana University Natatorium in Indianapolis on Monday, August 13.
Szekely remained dominant over her challengers throughout the discipline. With her fascinating effort, she faced no trouble in sustaining her fastest qualification spot as she showed her urgency towards the finishing wall for gold medal.
Her tremendous effort placed her prominently ahead of her rivals and she made her way to the podium for gold medal by touching the wall with an effort of 2 minutes and 26.35 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Bethany Leap of Sarasota YMCA Sharks, who suffered a loss of almost seven seconds and posted a time of 2 minutes and 33.78 seconds for second position.
The 16-year-old Leap was followed by Abigail Fisher of Lakeland Hills, who remained nearly 0.70 seconds slower from her former finisher and settled on the wall as third fastest swimmer by submitting a time of 2 minutes and 34.55 seconds.
Fourth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Katherine Drabot of Ozaukee Aquatics, who stayed one body length behind and emerged on the wall with an effort of 2 minutes and 35.41 seconds.
Subsequently, Drabot was traced by Amy Bopp of Schenectady-Saratoga Swim Club, who was 0.26 seconds apart and secured fifth position of the event by producing an effort of 2 minutes and 35.67 seconds.
Bopp was followed by Marisa Pulaski of Dayton Raiders, who was only 0.17 seconds apart and ended sixth in the race by producing a time of 2 minutes and 35.84 seconds.
Seventh position of the discipline was gained by Sara Borendame of Tucson Ford Deal, who remained 1.22 seconds behind and clocked a time of 2 minutes and 37.06 seconds.
Last position of the distant breaststroke race was obtained by Kate Didion of Terrapins Swim Team, who clocked a time of 2 minutes and 37.90 seconds.
In addition, the Szekely was overjoyed with her fascinating form in the 200m event and received medal after the session.
