Allison Schmitt wins Women’s 200m freestyle heat: Day two – 2011 USA Swimming Long Course Nationals
NBACMD’s Allison Schmitt displayed a stunning splash in the Women’s 200m freestyle heat, on day two of the 2011 USA Swimming Long Course Nationals in Paloalto, California, on Wednesday, August 3.
The session of the prelims conducted the Women’s 200m freestyle heat, in which Schmitt captured the top spot with a sterling time of 1 minute and 58.59 seconds. Meanwhile, Lauren Perdue of UVAAVA finished second in 1 minute and 59.29 seconds and Dagny Knutson
of UN07FL settled third on the podium in 1 minute and 59.74 seconds.
Jamie Bohunicky of GSCFL finished fourth in 1 minute and 59.78 seconds, while Catherine Breed of PLSPC earned fifth place honours with a time of 1 minute and 59.93 seconds. Megan Romano of ABSCGA was placed sixth in a time of 2 minutes and 00.08 seconds.
Lindsay Gendron of VOLSSE grabbed seventh spot in 2 minutes and 00.16 seconds, whereas, Chelsea Nauta of ABSGGA snared eighth position in a time of 2 minutes and 00.27 seconds. Alyssa Anderson of FORDAZ finished ninth in a time of 2 minutes and 00.49 seconds.
Shannon Vreeland and Chelsea Chenault were placed tenth in 2 minutes and 00.57 seconds.
In the Women’s 200m freestyle B heat, Morgan Scroggy of ABSCGA wound up first on the podium in 2 minutes and 00.70 seconds. Madeline Dirado of STANPC was placed second in 2 minutes and 00.79 seconds and Rachel Naurath of NOVAVA settled third in a time of
2 minutes and 00.83 seconds.
Erika Erndl of T2FL and Teresa Crippen of GAACMA finished fourth in 2 minutes and 00.95 seconds. Elizabeth Beisel of ABFNE was placed sixth in a time of 2 minutes and 00.96 seconds.
Shannon Landgrebe of SDAAZ earned the first place honours in the Women’s 200m freestyle C heat with a time of 2 minutes and 01.17 seconds, while Kathleen Hersey of TXLAST finished second in 2 minutes and 01.23 seconds. Kelsey Floyd of VOLSSE finished third
on the podium with a time of 2 minutes and 01.28 seconds. Kendra Stern finished fourth in 2 minutes and 01.40 seconds, while Brittany Strumbel of IUIN settled fifth in 2 minutes and 01.52 seconds.
