Allmendinger signs new deal with RPM
A.J. Allmendinger signed a contract extension with Richard Petty Motorsports. Allmendinger, a free- agent in the Cup Series, signed the multi-year contract on Tuesday. A formal announcement will take place Friday at the Watkins Glen International.

The RPM team is happy to have Allmendinger on board with them again, and optimistic about the opportunity to re-sign Allmendinger’s sponsor, Best Buy. The sponsorship details had not been settled before Tuesda'ys contract signing.

Allmandinger has earned three top 10 finishes in 21 starts this season, with a season best finish of sixth place at Atlanta in March. The 28-year-old driver has high hopes for this weekend’s race at Watkins Glen.
“I like racing at Watkins Glen and have had some success there in the past, so we're looking for good things from our Insignia HDTV Ford Fusion this weekend. Horsepower is big at this track and I know we've got good power under the hood so we're in good shape there. The rest of it is in our hands and we're excited about what we think we can do."
Allmendinger drives the No. 43 RPM Ford and is currently sitting in 22nd in the series standings. Since the racer has decided to stay with the team’s flagship car, RPM will work harder to get their star driver the wins he wants, and to fill the remaining slots on the team.

Kasey Khane and Elliott Sadler have both announced they will not be returning to the racing outfit for another season and Marcos Ambrose, who is leaving the No.47 JTG/Daugherty Toyota car, is rumoured to be the leading candidate to fill Khane or Sadler’s seats in one of RPM Fords.

Paul Menard has made no official statements suggesting he is leaving RPM, but sources close to Menard have let slip the information that he has talked with other teams about possible moves, including Richard Chidress Racing, but nothing has been confirmed as of yet.
