Allowing an 11 year old girl to get a tattoo?

I think my aunt is a total nutjob. She's going to let her 11 year old daughter get a giant tattoo (illegally of course) on her back of a butterfly.

What are your opinions? I obviously think it's insane.

  2. first, no reputable tatoo parlor is going to do anything on an 11 yr old, even with permission. second of all if she is letting her smoke, she is obviously buying her for them and that is against the law. turn her in to cps and the police. that will wake your aunt up in a hurry

  3. ok yeah that is wrong in part because as she gets older her skin will grow & the tattoo will get all messed up... now about smoking, that is really, really bad. my grandma died from lung cancer, the last years of her life were miserable. if you really care about that little girl get her and her mom help before is too late.

  4. I agree. If they're going to do it, they should at least be old enough to make their own decisions. I guarantee that child will regret whatever she gets. Plus, if it's not done in a professional shop, it probably won't look that great anyway.

    in a few years time the kid will be devistated !!! i mean why doesnt she just get a tattoo of hannah montana or somthing because shes wont be pissed of with that in a few years time ... then again with lung cancer she will probably have bigger things to worry about

  11. A child that age should not be allowed to make a decision like that---she isn't old enough or mature enough......of course your aunt is an adult and she doesn't sound like she is mature enough to make that decision either.

  28. You're right. She is insane. She really needs help. Im not trying to be mean, but she seams to me she's an unfit parent. I'm 13. I want a tattoo. Not a big one though. A small smiley face. If I got one , I would regret it. As a kid you want things, but from my experience, I wouldn't like it. I can barely handle a shot at the doctors. There is no way my mom would let me get a tattoo anyway. Your aunt parenting skills are going to lead to a highschool dropout, homeless, drugee. Your aunt needs help

You should call.  My aunt let me cousin get a tattoo while visiting when she was 14 (guilt over leaving them and moving across the country).  At 16, my cousin would no longer wear shorts because she thought it was sooo ugly and hated it.  I have 4 tattoos, but I'm 30 and only got my first one at 20 when I was able to make educated decisions.  I also waited a year to make sure that I would still like the one I chose after time passed.  11 year olds change daily so she may not like her choice later down the road.  

    As for letting an 11 year old smoke.....OMG!!!!
