Allowing an unlicensed driver?

What is the fine for allowing an unlicensed driver, in their 40's, drive your car? I was letting someone test drive a car I was selling and the car got towed for expired registration. I got the car out of towing and paid the fine but then got a ticket for allowing an unlicensed driver b/c this person called the Police Department to find out where the car was and said she was driving. She wasn't even pulled over or anything but she apparently had an expired license.

So I have to appear in court. Is this a big deal or just a fine?

  1. Wear a shirt slacks and tie. Do not interrupt the judge. Be polite. Say thank you. It's not a big deal.

  2. Probably just a fine and a lecture from the judge since she was also not covered by insurance since she was unlicensed.

  3. Just plead guilty of not knowing that this person didn't have a license and pay the fine. Next time ask.
