Alloy wheels affect mileage of a bike???

i heard one of my fren saying that alloy wheels on 2 wheelers affect its mileage..Is that true??can anyone help me out in this??

  2. That's not significant at all.  Your body weight is probably the biggest factor.

Alloy wheels are lighter compared to stamped steel wheels or wheels using material heavier than that of, say, aluminum alloy wheels.  The net effect is that the total weight of the bike will be lower than if it used heavier wheels.  Thus, the engine uses slightly less power and fuel to propel the bike.  The gas savings will be only moderate

  5. NO magnesium alloy wheels will not affect the mileage of your bike. it is a lighter material compared to steel. so it has less unsprung weight to carry.So on the contrary it will increase the mileage of the bike ( negligible amount though)

  6. not really since the heavier ones will rotate more without power and heavier ones take less power to turn
