Allstate 400 at Indy?

I am going to the Allstate 400 at Indy this year. I had seats in the past in the NW Vista, Tower and Pit Road Terraces, but this is my 1st time in the SW Vista ( I got tickets free this year)...anyone seen the race from this location and how is the view? I am in row JJ sec.19 at/near the top row

My fellow SW Vista fan!  I will be there myself, though I will be in Section 2, which is closer to the entrance to Turn 1.

You will be located at about the exit of Turn 1, closing in on the South Chute.  Two of the bigger accidents from last year happened literally right in front of your section.

There's a good video board right across from you - make use of it.

Also, if you didn't go to IMS during the month of May, you will also note that the infield for Turn 1 is *completely* different, due to the construction for the MotoGP track.  That corner looks like a completely different corner - really opened it up.

Overall, I've been pleased with my ticket location (row BB, I think).  Enjoy the race!

It may be an unpopular answer, but I really don't care for watching the races at Indy. I respect the history of it and I'm glad I've been and what not but I don't get it. Unless you are in the center press boxes, you don't see much at all. They drive so fast there and you can only see about 20 percent of the track at any given time, that you hardly see any racing at all. I find it a disappointment. I choose to enjoy the 400 at home on my couch where I can see it all.

They will fly right by you and you won't see any of the cars. It will be like watching paint dry, only the paint will be flying by you instead of sitting still.
