Ally Howe secures 100m back-stroke title – 2011 USA Swimming Long Course Junior Nationals
Day four of the 2011 USA Swimming Long Course Junior Nationals ended with scintillating splash of Ally Howe on the podium in Paloalto, California, on Thursday, August 11.
The session of the meet held the Women’s and Men’s 100m back-stroke finals. In the Women’s 100m back-stroke final, Ally Howe of Palo Alto Stanfo picked the golden crown with a winning time of 1 minute and 02.77 seconds. Lacey Locke of Carmel Swim Club grabbed
the silver title with a sterling time of 1 minute and 02.83 seconds, while Kylie Stewart of Dynamo Swim Club snared the bronze medal on the podium by submitting a time of 1 minute and 02.85 seconds.
Sierra Kuhn of Verona Aquatic finished fourth in a time of 1 minute and 02.94 seconds. Kathleen Baker of Star Aquatics was placed fifth in 1 minute and 03.02 seconds, whereas, Gabriel DeLoof of Pointe Aquatics finished sixth by posting a time of 1 minute
and 03.29 seconds. Rachel Moore of Crimson Aquatics wound up seventh in a time of 1 minute and 03.31 seconds, while Henr Stenkvist of Raleigh Swimming earned eighth spot after she touched the finishing wall in a time of 1 minute and 03.40 seconds.
Meanwhile, Luke Papendick of Lakeland Hills hit the wall in 56.76 seconds to win the Men’s 100m breast-stroke crown. Joshua Friedel of Stingrays Swim T earned the silver medal with a time of 57.49 seconds, while Aaron Greene of North Texas Nada captured
the bronze title in a time of 57.50 seconds.
In the corresponding meet, Presto Jenkins finished fourth in a time of 57.67 seconds, whereas, Ryan Donnell O was placed fifth in a time of 57.91 seconds. Zach Bunner of Chattahoochee wound up sixth on the podium by submitting a time of 57.99 seconds, while
Jack Mangan of New Trier Swim settled seventh in a time of 58.43 seconds. Reed Wheeler of Swim Mac Carolina grabbed eighth position in 58.66 seconds, whereas, Daryl Turner of Aces Swim Club surprisingly finished tenth in a time of 59.69 seconds.
