Almadaa likely to prevail in Steen O´Reilly Solicitors Handicap
Almadaa has been awarded with the best odds for victory in Steen O´Reilly Solicitors Handicap at Dundalk in Ireland on Friday, March 16, 2012. The triumphant runner will be awarded with a cash prize of €5,520.
A total of 10 entries have been attracted towards the 6 furlong race, which is scheduled to start at 8:00 GMT, and their names are as follows: Almadaa, Charismas Birthday, Tsar Paul, Rose Garnet, Thats A Fret, Drinmoy Lad, Ferryview Place, Richelieu, Sovereign
Secure and Hello Man.
Out of the above mentioned participants, Almadaa is likely to prevail in the race. The bookmakers have awarded him with pretty decent odds, despite the fact that he has been unable to maintain a good strike rate.
The five-year-old gelding has participated in 31 events until now, winning just one of them. Other than that, he has secured the runner up position on five occasions whereas he also managed to finish third in four races.
David Marnane’s trainee has one advantage though, as he has got plenty of experience of the conditions at Dundalk. He has also done well at the venue recently, which might encourage the punters to place more bets on him compared to the others.
Almadaa’s most recent outing proved to be a good one, as he finished second in it. He was not the favourite to win that event, but still managed to give a tough time to the race winner.
Today’s favourite runner will be partnered by Fergal Lynch, who has got a decent record and will be looking forward to a decent show at Dundalk today.
Charismas Birthday, trained by Philip M Byrne, might spoil the party for the race favourite, as she found some form in her most recent race at Dundalk. She is a good runner and has the potential to challenge the best in the business.
The four-year-old filly struggled to deliver strong results at the start of her career, but finally found some form. She will be confident of repeating such a show once again, but will need to be at her best in order to do so.
The second favourite runner will be ridden by M. M. Monaghan, who is yet to make a name in the sport.
There are lesser chances for the rest of the participants to make an impression at Dundalk today, but nothing can be accurately predicted in racing.
