  1. Give him a chance, he made it to the quarterfinals for God's sake! Geesh.

  2. as Almagro reaches his furst Quarter final in Grand Slams

but as u said he suchs today just like Verdasco

so bad Almagro + good Nadal= Nadal wins

So bad Verdasco +good Nadal + Nadal wins

it is n't that Nadal preforms perfectly but his opponents played soooooooo badly, we will see how Nadal plays against Djokovic

and about Almagro making a few errors i think 36 unforced errors in 21 games isn't a small number of errors

  3. Just because he can't beat the best clay player in the world doesn't mean he can't be a reasonable top 20 player.

He's got monster shots, he's just not too mobile.

He's like a male Marion Bartoli.

Bartoli got to the Wimbledon finals.  She's a top 10 player, but if someone can get her to run, she can be beat easily.

Same story with a young Lindsay Davenport.  People with big shots have lots of upside.  You can go farther with big shots and improving your speed and footwork than having pure speed and footwork and no big shots.

Dude made it to the Qfinals of a slam.  A lot of guys ranked above him didn't.  Lighten up.

  4. Though his loss was disappointing, and I personally like him as well as Nadal, he is on the rise nonetheless. The past 18 months he has steadily improved his play, ranking and is playing much better. Can not go by the score and allow that to question a players talent. During the first 5 matches, Nadal has hardly lost any games. His first match I believe he lost 5 games in first set, and since then has cruised through very easily, having lost just 25 games in 5 matches. That is 15 sets of tennis, and only losing 25 games. Says alot. However Almagro can not allow this loss to stall his progress.

  5. Your talking rubbish. Almargo made a few errors but Rafa was unstoppable. He played a near flawless game and never allowed Nicolas to dictate any points so shut your face. Just you wait and see, just you wait.......Vamos Rafa x*x The Birthday Boy is looking HOT ! x*x

  6. Does one beating from the greatest ever clay court player mean he is not "on the rise"????

  7. this is cheat game...all spanish players just gave the game to rafal....hope rafal lose easily to novak in semi...

  8. Almagro is only on the rise rankings wise due to the number of clay tourn. played...he played more than anyone else..on any other surface he needs big improvement..today vs. Nadal he was trying to do too much mainly due to the fact that he was simply outclassed

  9. Almagro is a good player with a lot of potential, but unfortunately he had to play a red-hot Rafa Nadal today, a man on a mission to win his 4th straight title at Roland Garros and maintain his unbeaten record in the tournament.

  10. Early days yet to say if Almagro will live up to his potential. Yesterday's game is no real test of this.

For young Spanish tennis players to play against Nadal is awesome. They have come to manhood in his daunting shadow, That is a hard thing to overcome in your first RG quarter finals!!

Almagro had, until this match, the best record for winning shots and the smallest number of unforced errors. Just look at his match with Rafa! Something like over 30 unforced errors. I think this shows that he is still too overawed by Rafa.

This is not true for the players that grew up with Rfa or that are older than he is. Ferrer and Moya and Ferrero can all hold their own against him mentally but not so(or not yet anyway)the younger Spanish players. To them he's a legend.
