Almeria Winger http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pablo-Piatti-c29003 on the radar of Benfica – Portuguese Primeira Liga news
Almeria Star, Pablo Piatti, is being monitored by Portuguese giants Benfica according to club President, Alfonso Garcia.
"There are several teams who want Piatti. Since it has come out in the media, I cannot deny that Benfica are one of the interested clubs," Garcia told A BOLA
"But there are other teams who want him and nothing has been settled." He further adeed.
Piatti started his career with the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/U-17-Youth-team-c40787 of Estudiantes de La Plata. He then made his way up the pecking order and was given his debut at the tender age of 17 against Newell’s Old Boys. In that match, he went from being a relative unknown to a coveted
starlet after he bagged the winning goal in the dying minutes of the game.
He became a regular for the Rat Stabbers and was in the first team for the 2007 Clausura tournament. He made 60 appearances in his two years at Estadio http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jorge-c19120 Luis Hirsch before being transferred to UD Almeria.
He was the first choice in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Álvaro-Negredo-c5294.
In the 2009/10 season, he scored an impressive tally of 7 goals in 35 outings and one of them was a crucial striker in the 1-0 win over Atletico Madrid
But the relegation of Almeria from Spain’s highest division has started a bidding frenzy for the highly-rated youngster. And Benfica are the supposed frontrunners in the race to sign him, with a rumoured offer of €7 million.
The 22-year-old usually plays as a classical winger but can also be relied upon to fill the space behind the main striker. His ball http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Skills-c40539 combined with his eye for goal makes him a sought-after target in Europe.
Benfica are looking to the man from La Carlota to fill the void left by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Oscar-c28720 Cardozo, who is rumoured to be on his way to Dynamo Kiev. With talent and a relative young age, Piatti could be the perfect replacement for the Paraguayan.
