i eat rice crispies for the iron and zinc, and i am about to eleminate milk, cheese, honey and eggs from my diet (esentially becoming a vegan but with leather(i guess) shoes becuase shoes are too expensive for me as it is, i have odd feet) and want to know if anyone else uses these items, i was thinking rice milk but that might be a bit much.

  1. Most rice milks are too watery for me to have on cereal.  I like almond and soy.

Note: Non-leather shoes are usually cheaper.  If you continue to wear your old shoes that is fine.  But next time you need new ones, check the non-leather varieties out.

  2. soy milk is really good

and vanilla soy milk tastes like milkshakes :P

  3. I prefer almond milk (Blue Diamond Almond Breeze.)  Rice Dream is pretty good too.

  4. I love cereal (cherios and chex are also vegan, whole grain, and have tons of vitamins and minerals too) and I have tried soy, rice, and almond milks at different times.  I know many people either have an allergy to soy milk or think it tastes funny, but this still remains to be my favorite.  Rice milk has a very weak and diluted flavor, so the milk taste seems to me completely lost.  I love almonds, so I was eager to try almond milk, but I found it has a stronger after taste than soy milk and is more difficult to get used to than soy milk (in my opinion).  I have also noticed that more brands of soy milk have more added vitamins and minerals than most rice or almond milk brands.  Whatever you choose, just make sure that there is at least 30% of your calcium intake, a fair amount of Vitamin B 12, and preferably, some vitamin D as you need these to maintain a healthy vegan lifestyle.

  5. Almond milk is my favorite... It's the creamiest and most flavorful out of almond, soy and rice milks... Rice milk has the lightest flavor and, personally, I find it a little watered down... Soy milk is good for pretty much all kinds of cereal... I use it with my rice krispies, joes os and my boyfriend uses it with his unhealthy kids cereals haha... Sometimes the hint of nut flavor in almond milk messes with the flavoring in cereals...

    Good luck

    :D

  6. Both almond and soy milk are tasty. Personally, I never liked rice milk though.

  7. I like vanilla soymilk on cereal...it gives a nice flavor

  8. I've tried soy milk, and I'm not sure if I've tried almond or not..but i'm sure it would taste good on cereal.  I'm not a milk drinker, never liked it, but I love soy milk, and I know alot of milk drinkers who like it as well.
