Alnoomaas hard to beat in Mirror Punters Club Handicap (Div I) at Wolverhampton
Both penalised runners, Alnoomaas and Lana, look the ones to keep an eye on, with strong preference for the first-named, who is coming off an outstanding triumph at Kempton.
A cosy success would have boosted up his confidence significantly, and he looks to be in a great position to annihilate the opposition in the Mirror Punters Club Handicap (Div I) at Wolverhampton on Thursday, September 13th.
Alnoomaas badly struggled early in the season. After making his seasonal debut with the ninth place at Kempton, the 3-year-old was completely unable to improve and as a result, suffered defeats respectively at Nottingham and Bath.
Trained by Luke Dace, the bay gelding showed some courage at Goodwood, where he was sixth in the San Rossore Turf Club Stakes (Handicap) last month. The son of Oasis Dream, however, learnt a few good lessons from his constant trouncing, and came up with
a solid effort at Kempton last week.
The 32Red.com Handicap (Div II) saw him making a wonderful start. In the hands of David Probert, he led after the first furlong, and retained his advantage until the end. Although a few tried to challenge him in the final stages, the 9-2 chance managed things
quite wisely to keep himself ahead.
Following an excellent effort, he secured the first rank by a length’s distance. Owned by Mark Benton, the bay gelding is back in form after a recent strike, and will be very hard to beat today. The ground conditions are almost same. So, he just needs to
appear with an equally good act to dominate the proceedings.
Lana will look to carry forward her good work under 6lb penalty. The David Evans-trained also broke the shackles last week, when taking a close win over Strategic Action in the GBI Racing Welcomes Marathonbet.com Handicap at Brighton.
Griffin Point has been unlucky over the past few weeks. Moreover, a step up in trip might become an issue for her. So, the bettors should stick with Lana and Alnoomaas. The latter deserves the preference, because he was more emphatic last time. We wish the
best of luck to all the horses.
