  1. Yes it is VERY safe, and effective as well. If it is from the plant itself, and depending on how bad your sunburn is, you should notice an improvement overnight.

But if it is a product you buy at the store, with aloe in it, it is still just as safe, just not sure how effective. However, I've used both on myself and my children with good results.

With either one, Do your best not to get it in your eyes. The stuff that comes straight from the plant may irritate less, but still keep it out of your eyes.

If your eyelids are actually sunburned, use neosporin or similar triple antibiotic ointment. It is thicker and easier to control so it won't run into your eyes.

  2. Pure aloe vera gel from the plant or from a health food store is perfectly safe. Products that say they contain aloe usually have alot of other chemicals and while they are safe for your skin, you would want to be especially careful around your eyes and if it's a spray-spray it on your hands and apply to your face, don't spray directly on your face.

  3. It's perfectly safe.

Of course you try to keep it out of your eyes, but not really harmful.

Some aloe vera gel contains lidocaine, an anesthetic; I wouldn't worry about it too much.
