Question:

Aloe vera plant, I need some help?

I bought a aloe vera plant the only one left in the store. This plant has 8 leaves on it and all are drooping down. The leaves that are on there feel full when I slightly squeeze them. The root where all the leaves are coming from is seperating from the dirt. The soil does seem very dry. While I was unwrapping the plant when i got home one of the leaves had been broken off.

How would I properly replant this leave to make a new plant?

How do I make this into a healthy plant?

Any information suggestions will be greatly appreciated

  1. in a larger pot, fill with a mix of potting soil vermiculite and sand from your gardening center, in equal amounts. wet down, let drain, until the upper soil is just sticking together. make a hole for your plants rootball and putting it in position, backfill with the potting mix you just removed. lightly. cover the exposed roots.

  2. Aloes don't need too much water but perhaps the plant is potbound and needs a bigger pot?

You can try to propagate the plant by placing a healthy leaf into the soil directly.  Many succulents reproduce this way.

  3. Sounds like it was overwatered   Just let it sit in the sun for a while and recover.  Resist the urge to water it too much.
