Alois Kankovsky wins the final stage of the Tour of Taihu Lake 2012
Alois Kankovsky of Team ASC Dukla Praha wins the final stage of the Tour of Taihu Lake 2012 after his heroic performance during the day.
The Czech took a total time of 2 hours 59 minutes and 57 seconds and claimed the top podium position with Alexander Serebryakov of Team Type 1-Sanofi holding the second spot.
Harrif Saleh of Team Terengganu, Leonid Krasnov of Team RusVelo and Benjamin Giraud of Team La Pomme Marseille occupied the third, fourth and the fifth positions respectively.
Julien Sebastien, Sergiy Grechyn, Michael Schweizer, Joeri Stallaert, Anuar Manan and Aldo Ino Ilesic achieved the next six positions with Milan Kadlec of Team ASC Dukla Praha finishing at the 12th position and claimed an overall victory at the
race.
Kadlec enjoyed a terrific for at the Tour of Taihu Lake 2012 as he succeeded during the first stage of the race and achieved a seven 7 lead after the stage 1 classifications.
He was delighted after claiming an overall victory at the eight-day race and thanked his teammates for their continuous through the event.
"It's a pity that Alois hasn't found a place in a Pro Team because he's one of the fastest sprinters in the world. He could win bunch sprints at Grand Tours as well," Kadlec stated
"We already came to the Tour of Taihu last year, so we knew what to expect in terms of courses," he told Cyclingnews.
"I don't know all of China but this is for sure one of the nicest area around a beautiful lake. We don't have in the Czech Republic such a well organized bike race. The problems of the sport of cycling are in Europe, not here".
Samuel José Rodrigues Caldeira (of Team Carmim-Pro succeeds at the first and the second sprints of the race whereas Jianpeng Liu of Team Hengxiang Cycling winning the final sprint of the event.
Alois Kankovsky of Team ASC Dukla Praha, Alexander Serebryakov of Team Type 1-Sanofi and Hariff Saleh of Team Terengganu Cycling Team occupied the top three spots in the point’s category with 14, 12 and 10 points respectively.
Leonid Krasnov of Team RusVelo, Benjamin Giraud of Team La Pomme Marseille and Jullien Sebastien of Team JLC secured the fourth, fifth and sixth positions with 8,6 and 5 points respectively.
