  3. Tim Hortons, Canada's Wonderland Amusement Park, Rush, the Northern Lights...

    Vancouver has a great nightlife.

Vancouver is a beautiful city and my personal first choice for visit.  Whistler's just a stone's throw away.  Great Japanese food too!

  4. You should either go to Calgary, Toronto, Montreal, or Vancouver.

The Best night life is in Vancouver.

You should hit up Calgary, get to the Calgary Tower, Olympic HOF. Banff, and there great night club's

Or Vancouver. It's a great city!

I'd recomend going to either of those 4 cities, so many great things there.

  5. Here is an excellent list of Canadian inventions.

    http://www3.sympatico.ca/taniah/Canada/t...

It's not an exhaustive list by any means but it gives you a good A to Z list (Acrylic to Zipper, both of which are Canadian inventions BTW...)

    Enjoy!

  6. As a native Canadian (from Toronto) who has lived in five countries on three continents and has been to over 50 countries...Canada will always be the place I call home.  I love my country, and am proud to call it home.

The big cities are great, but go to the small towns, and you'll really get to see the best part of our country (much like small-town America is such a wonderful part of your country).

Arizona...great place to visit; tons of awesome golf- always sunny and warm!  A touch hot this time of year, eh?

  7. I've visited 3 bits of Canada - Toronto several times  (liked a lot - HHOF is nice, and the architecture where it's housed is very interesting).  Also check out the Royal Ontario Museum for a funky building and fine exhibits.  Public transport made it easy to get around without a car, too.

Blue Mountain ski resort - lovely views and fun time, met friendly and diverse people.

British Columbia, specifically Whistler for skiing.  Why does anyone leave to go elsewhere?  It's beautiful.  Got stuck in Vancouver, and am very glad we did, it's a nice town, fab food.  We checked out the aquarium on the day we were stuck.

Can't give you much of a lowdown on night life, as we travel with a 10 and 13 year old!

I'm starting to sound like a travelogue - this is the second 'travel' question I've done today!  So do please visit the HOCKEY Hall of Fame!

My bro lives near Phoenix and we've visited before, can't wait to have chance to do it all again - Grand Canyon, Oak Creek Canyon, Kitt's Peak, the sunsets.... sigh.

  8. Toronto is one BEAUTIFUL city.

  9. the best night life? Without question George Street in St John's. More bars per square inch then anywere else in the world(cant remember where i got that odd stat)

and i will hopefully be in Arizona to catch a Phoenix suns game sometime in my near future even though it is highly unlikely

and Tim Hortons is better then Starbuck or dunkin donuts

  10. I have been only to Windsor Canada. I play in a tourney there every year. It is great. Everyone is right about Tim Horton's. Great stuff. Many good restaurants there. The skating is great if you want to get out there. The people are fun and very cool as well. I always have a good time there. Got to Hardees and have some poutine ( i think that is how you spell it.). That stuff is great  French Fries with Gravy and Cheese curds.

  11. I love Montreal!  The city beautiful, and the people are really friendly.  Canada also has nice weather in the summer.  It's not too hot.  And they have TIM HORTONS!  We don't have that in NJ.  Next summer I'm visiting Canada again and I'm definitely going to the HHOF too.

  12. free health care

  13. I'll say the PEOPLE. I have family up there, but I have met sooo many people (at school, in the streets, etc) and they all seem genuinely friendly. I think it is a cultural thing...generally the people are outgoing in a positive way.

  14. Alex Despatie (Olympic diver) was made in Canada...tee hee!

A little birdie told me Novia Scotia is nice.

awww now if I could clone myself I could go places. The clones would all work and I'd party. Sadly, I have to do all the work (my 2 jobs) and go to college. eek

  15. Well i've been to two 3 provinces in Canada and my favourite was BC

Canada has the HHOF, West Edmonton Mall which are some cool places to visit and the Maritmes are also beautful..matter when you go.

Vancouver is one of my favourite places ever :)

You can see the moutains when you look out your window and i love the beaches there. I would love to live in West Van, probably the nicest houses i've ever seen

Arizona seems like a nice place to live, I probably couldn't stand the heat though, (I'm from England)

    also... I ♥ Tim Hortons

  16. Pretty much like the US, it all depends on what you like to do. It's all here. If you like to party in the city, I suggest Montreal. Be warned though, trying to drink up a storm with the locals can be hazardous to your health, those folks know how to do it right. Driving in Montreal is a nightmare until you get to know the city. If you like down-home hospitality with genuine nice people go to the east coast, New Brunswick in particular. Breathtaking scenery, unbelievable fishing, and lots of fresh lobster. If you're driving, watch out for moose. Seriously, they are a hazard in NB, especially in the northern part.

At first glace Toronto appears to be any American city. Spend some time here and you soon discover it is not the same animal at all. Toronto is very ethnically and culturally diverse. Like any huge city you will find all the normal attractions and distractions here. If you're into camping and wilderness opportunities abound once you get north of  Barrie into Ontario's cottage country. You can get as deep into the wilderness as you dare the further north you go. Sudbury is a small city with a lot of intersting things to see and do. They have Science North as well as guided tours through the underground nutrino labratory built in an old nickle mine a mile under ground. Going west from there you find the oldest mountain range in North America. While certainly not the tallest mountains they are rugged and surrounded with plenty of crystal clear lakes for fishing and hunting.

Further west you get into Canada's Rocky Mountains. 2 national parks to check out are Jasper and Banff in Alberta. The awe factor of driving through this area is worth planning a holiday around. You'll need to have lots of memory in the camera for this trip. I've driven through there a hundred times and still have to stop and just look. Naturally, driving is an experience in itself. No interstate type highways here, you gotta pay attention. A shorter route through the mountains is Crowsnest pass, from Fort McCleod Ab. to Hope BC. Shorter in mileage, longer in time this route is not for the timid and require some mountain driving ability. Lots of switch-backs and steep grades but it is also breathtaking for scenery.  By the time you get to the Pacific Ocean you'll be looking for a realestate agent.

Not sure what you're looking for but I guarantee you'll find it somewhere in Canada.

Also, thanks for the invite to AZ. I've seen pretty much all of it from Yuma to New Mexico and from Nogales to Flagstaff. Loved all of it. I have a stack of pictures from there about 2 1/2" thick, mostly that canyon thing you got there

  17. When I think of Canada I think of two things:

    1. Hockey

    2. Tim Horton's

That is what comes to mind haha I've only been in Canada a few times briefly

Arizona seems like a nice state, I was there about two years ago or so.

  18. I heard that during the winter, there's this river that becomes so frozen, people travel during the season.. by skating!

It'll become frozen stiff so it becomes a ice road where you ice skate to travel around.

  19. British Columbia:

From what I've heard BC is one of the most beautiful places ever. My cousin went there last year and he loved it, lots of things to do and places to see. It has the Pacific Ocean beside it and the Rocky Mountains. It also has a lot of national parks and it is an all around beautiful province. I'm pretty sure Vancouver would have a pretty good nightlife too as it is the third largest metropolitan area in Canada.

    Alberta:

Okay in Alberta you have Calgary, Edmonton, and Banff. In Calgary they have the Calgary Stampede, which is one of the largest festivals in Canada. Edmonton has the West Edmonton Mall which is the third biggest indoor shopping mall in the world, and from what I've heard it's awesome. The place I would most want to go to in Alberta though would have to be Banff. From the pictures of Banff National Park that I've seen it just looks like a really scenic and serene place to visit. Alberta also has a few national parks (like BC) and has the Rocky mountains.

    Saskatchewan:

Mostly prairies, but they have Saskatoon and Regina too. Saskatoon has the highest crime rate in Canada though. I really don't know enough about Saskatchewan to tell you more.

    Manitoba:

    Same with Saskatchewan.

    Ontario:

Okay since I live here I know there are a lot of great places to visit here. Okay Toronto has the CN tower, HHOF, skydome, Wonderland, BMO Field, Queens park etc. Lots of great places to visit. Plus my cousin always tells my brother he should be lucky to live so close to Toronto because it has the best night life and it has a whole strip of clubs. Not too far from Toronto is Niagara Falls which has the Falls of course, but also has Botanical Gardens and whatnot. It also has these really cool places to visit like the Ripleys place and whatever. Our capital is also located in Ontario, so there are the parliament buildings there if your interested in that stuff.

Okay I'm taking a short break because I have to help with dinner but I'm going to add more later. Can't forget about the rest of Canada.

    Quebec:

Okay actually I heard Montreal has the best nightlife. Heard it's an awesome city. I've been to Quebec City though and it's really cool. It has like this wall around the city and it looks really historic. Lot's of great places to visit history wise.

    Maritimes:

Heard some of the nicest people live here. Beside the Atlantic ocean, great fishing (I'm a vegetarian though), and beautiful scenery.

Hope that helped. I think Montreal and Toronto have the best nightlife in Canada. If you wanna come up here there are many great places to visit, I can't single out just one. Personally I would love to go to Banff, but I think it's better to go there in the winter. There are many things to do in the summer in Toronto, many festivals and parades, sports events etc.

By far the best thing up here is to have ice caps in the summer from Timmies. Just had one today=) Much better than Dunkin Donuts (plus I hate the way doUGHnuts is spelled).

  20. I really like Kananaskis, Banff, Victoria, Calgary, and Vancouver

  21. Montreal prob is the best city to go to, there are so many things to see there and it is so diverse with a huge *** underground mall. i love that place. check out the old olympic stadium there, it is really cool

  22. Come to Edmonton in July and August and see the Edmonton Indy, Taste of Edmonton food samples from different restaurants in the City, Street Performers Festival,Hertitage Day Festival (more delicious food and entertainment from 50 countries in the world, Edmonton Folk Festival and just winding up this week - The Big Kahuna (Edmonton Fringe Festival).

    That encompasses about 5 weeks!

I stop over in Phoenix on my way to and back from Mexico in February.

  23. Niagara falls of course i think that's in canada and i have heard that canadian bacon is really good

  24. Timmy Ho's! (even though they are in WNY also) Iced cap supreme mmmmmm

The better side of Niagara Falls

    Coffee Crisp

I'd like to go to Vancouver

  25. Rachel McAdams
