The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 international could be seen taking a stroll down the streets of Manhattan as his future at the club become more uncertain
Last week, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Switzerland-c3016. That news sparked a debate on the player’s future at the club. Although, these rumours seemed mere speculation at that time, today, it is very different
and perhaps real.
The France international was on vacations after the Euros and left for USA. However, the player was supposed to be back last week. Despite a deadline to meet, Diarra has chosen to stay in Manhattan.
Asked to report on July 24, Diarra prefers to stay in USA which clearly means that the player could be sold this summer.
However, Olympique de Marseille president, Vincent Labrune, claims that the club is not looking to sell the former Bordeaux man and defended his player by saying that Diarra has never caused the management any sort of trouble.
“There was never any question of leaving Diarra. He is a good guy, he has a good contract, he never caused any trouble,” said the president while talking to Aujourd’h*i en France.
Yet, the club’s financial situation is not looking any good. Alou Diarra earns 300,000 Euros per month and earns a net salary of 6 million euros a year which is something Marseille’s coffers barely mange. For weeks now, Labrune has stressed the importance
of cutting down the wage bill and Diarra being one of the top earners at the club, may be sold this summer.
Les Phoceens want to avoid a huge debt of 35 million euros by the end of the fiscal 2012/2013 and selling a player on such a payroll would be considered as a feasible option eventually.
Furthermore, Diarra and former coach Didier Deschamps, have the same agent named Jean-Pierre Bernes. Reports claim that the agent has always conflicted with the club management which means that one can see a possible departure on the horizon.
Moreover, the player has not really shone so Elie Baup may not have any plans for him next season.
