Alou Diarra promises fans a good performance for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 – Ligue 1 news
The last time France international Alou Diarra appeared in front of media, it was a tough and tense afternoon for a player who was receiving a lot of criticism from Marseille fans and journalists due to his below-par performances.
The 30-year-old joined Les Phoceens this summer from FC Girondins de Bordeaux and made a horrible start to life at the Rhone club as Marseille failed to win any league game in the first few weeks of the 2011/2012 Championnat.
However, while giving an interview to Provence the French midfielder seemed a much more relaxed person than ever before.
Coming back from a solid and reassuring performance in an International Friendly against USA at the Stade de France, the experienced midfielder seemed calm and happy.
“I felt good. In general, I am fine now, my back pain has disappeared,” said the 30-year-old who a few weeks back, told journalists that a niggling back problem was the main reason behind his abysmal performances.
Alou Diarra has now said that he is looking to improve even more for both Marseille and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899. “I have confidence in myself. I am mentally tough. I never doubted myself. I will be 100% fit only when I’m in good shape. I feel good but I can do even better,”
said Diarra.
Despite being on the receiving end of a lot of harsh criticism, Alou Diarra did not show any resentment at media and admitted that it is a part of a footballer’s life to be criticised. Diarra said that he has learned to accept criticism and will always do
his best to prove himself.
After a dreadful start to the 2011/2012 campaign, Les Phoceens are currently in 8th place with 18 points from 13 games. although a title assault can theoretically be ruled out, Didier Deschamps’ men still have a great chance of making it to the
last Champions League spot as they trail reigning Ligue 1 champions LOSC Lille by six points.
With 13 games played, the season has just started and Marseille will have 25 games to achieve their aspirations. Qualifying for the UEFA Champions League is a must for a club of Marseille’s stature and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alou-Diarra-c5259’s return to form could play a vital role
in the club’s chances of doing so.
