Alpengeist...?

Okay, so I'm going to Busch gardens tomorrow, (Europe), and I LOVE the coasters there, Loch Ness, Big Bad Wolf, Apollos, Griffon's OKAY I guess, but I can barely stomach it, it really pushes the limit. But I was wondering if I should go on Alpengeist... I'm scared because it's suspended, which makes me feel like it's all loose and flippy, plus I can barely stomach The Griffon, but, in terms of not vomiting uncontrollably, do you think I would be able to ride Alpengeist?

  1. If you can handle Griffon (one of my favorite coasters!!), I'm sure you can handle Alpie.

Unlike what the other person said, there are drops you can feel on Alpie.  And yes, there are lots of twists and you do feel them.  I love Alpie, but over the years, It's come down that I can get sick to my stomach when I ride it because of all the twists, so I usually end up skipping it now (which really sucks).  If you think it'll make you sick, take some Dramamine before you get to the park.  It's a motion sickness pill, and it works pretty good when it comes to coasters.

If you do end up riding Alpie, sit in the front row.  This way, you'll see everything coming at you, and can prepare for the twists, without having to see everyone else around you flipping around.  If you feel sick, close your eyes, and keep your head back.  Don't ride the coaster after you eat or else you'll really be sick.

As far as Alpie being a suspended coaster, if you can ride Griffon, you can ride Alpie.  Griffon is a floorless, while it's not the same as the ski lift trains on Alpie, your feet are still free to hang.

If you think one or two rides on Griffon is enough for you, I was stuck on the train for 4 rides in a row during it's media day.  I got stuck on the media train, so we were filming all of the commercials and videos for it, and we couldn't get off.  Needless to say, I was really sick after that, but I still love the ride!!

  2. There aren't any drops, (or drops that you can feel) in Alpen, so I think you'll be okay. You can't compare The Griffon to Alpengeist, they're like apples and oranges. One focuses on one particular (crazy!) drop, and the other concentrates on twisting. In Alpengeist, your really just turning and spiraling everywhere, you can barley tell when you're going upside down or when your right side up. (in a good way) But i really suggest you go on it, I think you'll be fine. I felt way worse after the Griffon than I did after Alpengeist, so if you can take the Griffon, then you can def. do Alpengeist. I hope i helped!
