This winter, Paris Saint-Germain coach, Carlo Ancelotti signed a fourth goalkeeper in the shape of Ronan Le Crom. This decision meant that young Alphonse Areola was relegated to the reserve team. However, playing with the reserves has done the 19-year-old
a world of good.
The Under-19 international has shown that he could one day become an integral part of both PSG and the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 national team which bodes well for everyone.
His agent, Franck Belhassen observes that the youngster is showing signs of improvement both as a player and a person.
“It’s like he’s driving a brand new Ferrari with a full tank and that he has begun to learn good behaviour.”
A successful season for the reserves would go a long way in assuring Areola a chance to feature for PSG’s first-team next season. PSG’s academy director Reuzeau Bertrand says that the teenager is definitely on the rise and will soon integrate with the first-team.
“He is on the rise and will soon be seen in the professional world.”
However, it still remains to be seen whether he will be able to make his mark at PSG or not. 19-year-old as Salvatore Sirigu’s number two for next season.
However, a loan move to Ligue 2 might make more sense as the former AC Milan manager is keen on seeing the young custodian gain more experience first.
The youngster himself says that he wants to play for PSG’s first-team one day but admits that he needs to play for a higher division in CFA before that.
“The aim is to one day start for PSG and for that, he must go and get playing time in a higher division at CFA,” says his agent.
