Question:

Alpine CDA-9856 not receiving XM radio

I replaced my car battery last night. After replacing it, I can no longer receive XM satellite radio. It worked fine prior to battery replacement. If I tune to channel 0, it says ''Radio ID'', but does not display the radio ID. It used to display it. I suspect that removing the car battery caused the radio to lose the ID number. I called tech support at XM and they said that I have a bad connection to the XM receiver and need to take the car to a dealership. I don't believe this to be the case, since it worked perfectly just prior to changing the battery. She did try ''sending me a signal'', whatever she means by that. I had to leave it turned on for 20 minutes, which I did, but it still isn't working. I can receive am / fm stereo fine as well as play CDs, but no XM. I read through the manual online, and didn't find anything that that looked helpful. I THINK that I need to do some sort of reset that will refresh the radio ID, but haven't found any info to support that belief.Any suggestions? Thanks!
