Alpine Powered Subs???

Question

Ok, so I noticed that alpine used to make (at least) 2 powered subs. The PLV-7 and PLT-5

I basically have 3 questions stemming from this.

1) Does anybody know WHY these subs got discontinued?

2) Does anybody know WHERE I could still get some?

3) Does anybody know HOW good they are, and if you recommend them. Or do they break quickly? :(

well those boxes are specifically made for pick-up trucks and 2 door LT vehicles so they dont serve the majority of alpine car mainiacs,,, but maybe an authorized apline dealer performance shop can get it for U,  not best buy etc.,,,
