Alpine cda 9886 HU doesnt play USB??

Question

It plays a 512mb memorex usb, but doesnt play a kingston 2 gb drive. it gives a message "no usb unit" !! i'm wondering what could be the reason ??

A lot of head units have a capacity limit on their USB interface. Most of the time its around 512mb - 1gb. Any larger and it may not know how to read the file allocation table.

Another thing might be a folder limit. There is a 255 folder limit on pretty much every head unit's USB interface.
