I have been doing TKD for 6 years, and I love it. But I'm really interesting in learning ground-fighting or grappling.

Can anyone suggest as many ground arts as they can plz

  1. Judo and BJJ.

  2. Brazilian JiuJitsu, Kosen Judo, and Submission Grappling focus intensely on groundwork. However, they should also teach you some basic takedowns. BJJ and Kosen Judo use a gi, while Sub Grappling work without one.

(Unfortnunately, not all Brazilian JiuJitsu schools work takedowns and takedown defense, as some of them start matches from their knees.)

Judo and Sambo focus heavily on throwing and taking people to the ground, but also have pretty extensive groundwork. Judo doesn't allow leglocks, but incorporates chokes and arm/shoulder locks. Sambo specializes in leglocks, utilizes armlocks, and excludes chokes.

Some Judo clubs are like the opposite of BJJ clubs, in the sense that they'll spend most of the time on throws and very little on groundwork. When you choose a club (BJJ or Judo), it is ideal that they practice both.

And wrestling is great for takedowns (no gi), but doesn't really have much in the ways of groundwork.
