to wit: THE LUNAR LANDINGS WERE NOT A HOAX. THE WORLD WILL SURVIVE 2012. PLANET X AND NIBIRU WILL NOT DESTROY THE EARTH.

Any others that should be included?

  1. and questions asking about their horoscope sign, and aliens

  2. I think a stricter policy on already resolved questions would be nicer as such a disclaimer.

  3. As bothersome as those questions can be, they are also very avoidable to anyone who doesn't want to read them.  The ones that bug me are those who come here presuming to *teach* this nonsense.  But for those who really don't know and want to get a decent, factual answer, this is one of the few places where they can get it.

I am concerned especially for the kids who come here wondering if they are going to graduate from high school or ever drive a car or get married.  So I use a cut-n-paste answer for every one that I see.  I would recommend that for any others who can't avoid these questions but are getting tired of them. Click, click, click...done.  I'll probably be writing one or two of them for the moon landing hoax nuts soon.

  4. YES!! Please!!

  5. "Why is the sky blue?" and "How can I learn telekinesis?" should go in there as well.

  6. Good idea! Unfortunately Yahoo Answers is totally oblivious to suggestions by its users.

  7. How about

"Do not ask about your horoscope"

    ?

  8. These two:

"Astronomy and astrology are NOT the same thing.  Take your horoscope c**p elsewhere."

"No one knows if anything exists outside of the universe; the universe is curved, thus having no edge; no one knows what happened before the big bang, as there WAS no 'before'  -- reality, time, etc. didn't exist, at least not as we know them; we don't know how the universe will 'end', if it ever does; and all of the other impossible to answer questions we seem to get in these parts -- if your question could only be answered by an omnipotent being, don't bother asking it."

  9. Area 51 should be off limits.

Aliens should only refer to Canadians.

  10. Either this, or some sort of filter that checks for phrases like "Nbiru" or "2012" when people try to submit questions.

  11. Your assumption that the askers of these questions can read is rather optimistic...

Let's face it, these people aren't even able type "2012" into Yahoo's search field.

  12. That would save a lot of time.

  13. my suggestion was just ban anyone asking a question with 2012 in it.  (sorry, London Olympics!)

or anyone that uses the words "Moon Landing" and "Fake" or "Hoax"

you see, if we just shunt them off to their own little section then either they will be left alone with just other NUTBARS (unacceptable!  They could be PLANNING something!), or we would all just peek inside "Just Once" and be so incensed that we answer the questions just the same as if it was A&S

  14. yes, we should include those but also be sure to include...

    - the LHC will not make a black hole swallow earth

    - of course god is not real

    - the bible is not more logical than science

    - a tin foil hat won't get you in contact with the mothership

    - we are not going to blow up a planet

    - aliens are not landing on earth and they are not abducting us

and we can entitle this category-

"questions that seem retorical and asked by people that either want atention, have no idea what they are talking about, or just want someone as ignorant as they are there are to agree with them."

the only thing is, if people who honestly have no clue what in the world they are talking about, and we give them a seperate category, then all they are going to get is more scared or more ignorant because of morons agreeing with them. we won't be there to actually tell them what is right and what is wrong. i have copy and paste answers for these questions because there are tons of them. unfortunately, most people that ask these questions are children, or teenagers that can easily be misslead, and thats the last thing they need right now. i do wish some of them would look at the same questions that have been asked thousands of times before though. i think we should all come up with one copy and paste answer for each one of these frequently asked question. maybe then they would get the picture. sometimes, i think they just want attention, and in tha case, we should make a new category, but there are some that are genuinly confused and scared by this trash, and those are the people that are going to turn out even more scared.

  15. There are no aliens.

The sky is blue because of Rayleigh scattering.

  16. UFO means Unidentified Flying Object.  Most of them become IFOs or Indentified Flying Objects.  Many of the rest are FFOs, Faked Flying Objects.

    And maybe elsewhere -

"The Bermuda Triangle is a hoary old  hoax."
