Nothing country, or from the 80's or early 90's.. please... I was looking for something simple on the piano or guitar... We like old jazz.. like frank and such, and alternative rock. something soft and sweet. thanks for the help.

  1. Jason Mraz, 'I'm yours' or 'Lucky'... they are both amazing and sound like what you're looking for

  2. Unforgettable - Nat King Cole

You are so beautiful to me - Joe Cocker

Just the way you are - Billy Joel

Hope this helps a little. All the Best :)

  3. Hooray for Jazz Standards.  Some of my favourites from Frank Sinatra/Ella Fitzgerald that would seem appropriate:

"All the things you are" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQAzOyUAq...  (I'm sure this can be arranged for piano/guitar quite easily.)

    "Blue Skies"

    "It Had to be You"

    "Beginning to see the Light"

"Our Love is here to Stay"

The good thing about standards is that you can simply pluck out the tune on piano or guitar, even without vocals, and most people will recognize the song!

  4. L-O-V-E by Frank Sinatra

  5. Ben Folds Five - The Luckiest

Also for something a little funkier...

    Stevie Wonder has a few:

    -  You and I (we can conquer the world) - wonderful but a little slow.

    -  You are the Sunshine of my Life

    -  Happier than the Morning Sun

    -  I Believe (When I Fall in Love It Will Be Forever)

  8. Anything Harry Connick Jr. sings. "A Wink And A Smile" and "We Are In Love" are pretty great.

  9. After all is said and done - Beyonce and Marc Nelson

    This song is so beautiful!!!!!

  10. Etta James or Christiana Aguilera- At Last. Simple, sweet, classic.

  11. love me tender --- norah jones
