  2. Your best bet is to check with the colleges/universities that you're thinking of attending and (1) making sure they have an astronomy program (2) seeing what classes are required.  If you're still in high school, take prep classes to prepare you.  Take AP classes if you can.  

    Eri posted some really good advice on this topic a few days ago.  You might want to go read through her answers.

  3. You will need extensive training in mathematics including:

    Algebra

    Trigonometry

    Calculus

    Differential Equations

    Linear mathematics

    In Physics you will need:

    Quantum mechanics

    Atomic Theory

    Thermodynamics

    Mechanics

    Electromagnetic

    In Astronomy:

    Orbital Mechanics

    Radio and Optical Telescopes

    Senior projects

    Seminars

    Basically, everything you can get.

    Also wouldn't hurt to have a couple of chemistry courses under your belt as well.  Also, good writing skills will be required.

  4. I provided a couple of universities and there course material and a list of universities that offer degrees.  Just look up any of those universities and check the guidelines.

  5. You can do degree courses in astronomy.  Higher studies can be pursued in Astrophysics from Indian Institute of Astrophysics
