making sure i,am selling my car for cash. buyer says he wants to take it right to the harbor and put it on the boat. but the car is still in my name. any tips or things to do or be aware of thanks.

You need to make sure you have the cash and then transfer ownership to the buyer before it goes anywhere. He will be responsible for all customs forms and fees applicable to the country he is importing it to.

If you belong to AAA, you can go to one of their offices and transfer ownership right there in minutes.

If not, make sure you scrupulously follow your state's laws for transferring titles.

Make sure you get buyer info, such as name, address and so forth, from the buyer's drivers license.  In fact, make a copy of the license.

Make sure you mail the record of transfer of title immediately and keep a copy.

id tell him to bring some kind of mail with his name on it and address and some kind of picture id as well. remember this guy aint across the state line his in another country.
