  1. easiest way to find out if a larger amperage alternator  will work in your car, (if you're doing the replacement yourself), is to remove the old alternator and take it to your local parts store, (auto zone, advance auto, etc.), and physically compare it to a larger amperage unit. Make sure the ears where the bolts go through are in the same location. The electrical connectors are not as important since you can replace them with connectors that fit the new alternator.

  2. If it will bolt up and plug in, it will work.  How many amps the alternator has, doesn't matter.  What matters, is that it's regulated to 12V.  All cars do that.

  3. Yes if the bolt pattern is the same it will hook right up no problem.  The only issue might be to make sure that the pulley is the same on the new one (diameter and number of ribs).  You have what is referred to as a Ford 3G (third generation) alternator and there are 2 main versions being small case and large case.  The one you have is the small case and the 130 amp is the large case model.  If you will be running any kind of high amperage items like extra lights or a sound system I would also upgrade the "big 3" or if nothing else upgrade the charge lead that goes from the alt output stud to the battery as less voltage drop in the lead means the alt doesn't have to work as hard to supply the requested power so it will run cooler, last longer, and draw slightly less horsepower from the engine.
