Can two PC's be connected to use one for file storage?

If so, how?

  1. You can network two PC's together with a crossover cable. Providing they both have a NIC card.


  2. Yes, you can get an "crossover" ethernet cable to network two PCs. You need to set up the "network configuration" and the cable needs to be "crossover" (which means it has a twisted pair wire, a special cable you can get at any Circuit City or CompUSA or similar store).

    However, I think the best and lowest cost and most flexible and easiest solution for expanded storage is a external USB hard drive. Great way to backup DVDs and such.
