Alternate jerseys for 2008-09 NHL season?

I've heard rumors, but they're just that. I'm sure it's bound to happen though. Which teams do you think will get them, if not all of them? Throw some ideas around on what you think would be cool.

  1. I liked the Flames 3rd jersey with the flaming horse head on it.I would like to see Phaneuf put someone through the glass while wearing that sweater!


  2. The Bruins need to get a good one. Maby something like a snarling bear. But they need to get a goal scorer first before I start worrying about the jersey.

  6. Third jerseys are stupid.  There is only one team that hasn't fallen in to that stupidity.  THE DETROIT RED WINGS.  They don't need gimmicks to increase merchandise sales, they just play good hockey.

Right now Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Philly, LA, St. Louis, and San Jose have confirmed 3rd sweaters... most of which are retros.  Boston and Edmonton are unconfirmed, but are likely due to their prominent use of alternates in the past.  So far those are the only rumors out there, but my source stays on top of uni-related news pretty well.

  9. I think the penguins are going to make their blue jerseys (the ones they wore in the winter classic) a third jersey. I just hope the islanders dont go back to the orange jerseys, BLAH!

  10. Ric has a partial list, also The Hurricanes and Thrashers are planning on one. Hurricanes will be black with the alt logo, Thrashers more maroon apparently.

  11. I know the penguins will be using the powder blue jerseys they wore at the Winter Classic as their alternate for the upcoming season. Outside of them, I'm not entirely sure who else
