Question:

Alternate solution for dampening material?

I have two 10 inch Alpine Type R subwoofers in my trunk and the trunk rattles horribly. The other day i was being cheap and i found some sound foam (same stuff the orchestras use in the orchestra pits) and i used double sided tape to mount that on the bottom of the trunk lid. It sounded way better and the rattling was drastically reduced. The only problem is i can't find a tape that is going to stick on the trunk well enough. The first stuff already fell off even after i cleaned and prepared the surface for adhesive. (yes i know this is the cheap way to try car audio and i never cut corners anywhere else in car audio, just here)

Does anyone recommend trying to make this work or should i just go out and buy some dynamat and install that in the trunk? What do you guys think about this alternate idea? Also does anyone have any other ideas for alternate dampening materials?

Thanks in advance!
