  1. biogas and hydrogen and air is good substitute...running a vehicle using compressed gas is a good substitute

  2. There are many "alternatives".  But as you read here, even simple ones aren't clear.  Propane, ethanol (E85), methanol, butanol, natural gas, syn gas....the list goes on.  However, I am sure you haven't learned enough yet to try any of those.

  3. no theres not sorry

  4. No, there isn't unless you get a completely different car.  There is no alternative fuel that will work in a gasoline engine.

Some "flex fuel" cars can run on a mix of ethanol and gas, but it decreases their fuel efficiency, and studies have shown that corn-based ethanol is worse for the environment than gasoline.

  5. check out these links.

  6. There is the E85 that General Motors is building cars to run on. It is a corn based fuel. It is nothing more than moonshine mixed with gasoline. It is not as efficient as gasoline but it is less expensive. It is not a financial reward but it is definitely greener and could cut our dependency on foreign oil.

  7. You can purchase a legal still, use feed corn and sugar.Your fuel cost would be 75 cents a gal.

  8. The only alternative I can think of is LP (liquid propane) it isn't the greenest fuel out there but its a little bit cheaper that gas right now at least here in the southwest it is. Back in the early 90's my family had two of them on the farm because you could put a large enough tank in the pickups to last a almost a month. there is a a bit of a power loss with LP but it is a greener than gas, it burns cleaner and you would be supporting an American gas company and not oil companies
