Im getting a brand new computer soon and I need to transfer all my music and other files over. I have approximately 10gb of music and a good amount of other files. Should i use a flashdrive or get a PC Connector thing?

Whats my best option?

  1. flashdrive is a sort of tedious process because it does not store enough data and you would have to delete it over and over again. So i would go with the pc connector cable, or if you want to transfer and have back up you can get an external hard drive, they store a much larger amount compared to flash drives. But if you're on the budget just go with the cable

  2. My first choice would be to use peer to peer networking on your home network. Hopefully you already have a Modem or Router with multiple ports. Simply Plug both computers into the Router, making sure they are both in the same Workgroup, and can "see" each other. Then on "new" computer ALLOW sharing of the "public" space. Make a directory within the public space for Transferred files. Go to old computer, Network places, find New Computer, Public space, Transferred files and copy what you need into it.

Reminder do not delete things from old computer, until you have used the New computer for awhile and are sure you have all your mail, favorites, etc.
