Question:

Alternatives to cable for television and internet?

I am moving into a new apartment and will have to pay for cable and internet. However, Time Warner charges $100 a month for both! That is soo much money. I'm wondering if anyone knows of alternatives to cable, and what the price is.

I know for TV, there is Direct TV and Satellite TV. And I also know that Verizon offers internet with Fios. How much do these services cost per month, and are there any others? I don't even know if I can have a satellite at my apartment anyway...

  1. Have you tried comcast? -_- sorry if this isn't a helpful answer. With comcast you don't need a satellite.  Its about 33 dollars each for the Triple Play thing, which is cable, internet, and phone. Or you could just get cable and internet from them :)

  2. It depends where you live, but try your local telephone company's DSL (Digital Subscriber Line).  I live in Florida and bundled my home telephone, cell phone and DSL (high speed internet) from AT+T.  With the bundle discount, my DSL costs $22/per month for 6 MB (Megabit) service.
